Seoul’s Mega LED Display, Shinsegae’s 72M Digital Display lights up Myeongdong’s Future
Seoul is stepping into the future with a massive new LED display at Shinsegae Department Store in Myeongdong. This huge screen, recently set up in one of the city’s busiest areas, aims to show off Seoul’s advanced tech and strengthen its image as a modern, forward-thinking city.
Myeongdong has now become "the Second OOH Advertising Free Display Zone" in Seoul. This new title allows for even more cutting-edge digital ads in the area, helping to revive Myeongdong as a lively cultural and commercial hotspot.
The Digital display, measuring an impressive 72 meters wide and 18 meters high, with a total area of 1,292 square meters, serves as a canvas for Seoul's digital ambitions.
Pioneering 8K Anamorphic Media Art
On November 1st, Seoul City introduced the nation's first 8K ultra-large anamorphic media art titled "Haechi & Soul Friends' Romantic Adventure" at Myeongdong Square. This groundbreaking display utilizes anamorphic technology, an artistic technique that creates different visual effects based on the viewer's angle or direction, resulting in an immersive content experience.
The video content features Seoul's mascot characters, Haechi and Soul Friends, enjoying romantic moments in the charming city. The narrative begins with the characters greeting the audience from their hot air balloon, "Seoul Moon," as they overlook the cityscape. Throughout their journey, Haechi and Soul Friends indulge in various Seoul attractions, including DDP Seoul Light and fireworks displays, showcasing the city's allure. The video concludes with the Seoul brand slogan "SEOUL, MY SOUL" twinkling in the night sky.

Their Christmas-themed video, titled "Pursuit of Christmas Moments," transforms the department store into a mysterious Christmas castle. The narrative follows the journey of a giant ribbon born within the store, intertwining with various Christmas scenes.
